Asili Travel ("Asili Travel", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. As a travel advisory business, we collect and process certain personal information to provide travel advice, plan trips, communicate with clients, and arrange travel bookings.

Asili Travel is operated by Nicole Meyer and operates as a Fora Travel Advisor. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have regarding your personal information.

Asili Travel operates in South Africa and seeks to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") and other applicable privacy laws.

3. Our Booking Intake Form

Asili Travel uses an online booking intake form to understand your travel requirements and prepare for an initial enquiry or consultation.

Information submitted through the form is initially reviewed and used by Asili Travel to understand your requirements, communicate with you and determine how we can assist.

Submitting the form does not constitute a confirmed booking.

If you decide to proceed with a booking, additional information may be required. Relevant information may then be shared with Fora, travel suppliers, booking platforms and other service providers where reasonably necessary to arrange and manage the travel services you have requested.

Your intake-form information is not automatically shared with every travel supplier simply because you submit an enquiry.

5. Fora, Travel Suppliers and Third Parties

Asili Travel operates as a Fora Travel Advisor. When you proceed with a travel booking, relevant personal information may be processed through Fora's systems and shared with the travel suppliers necessary to arrange your trip.

Depending on your booking, these may include airlines, hotels, resorts, tour operators, cruise companies, car rental providers, travel insurance providers, destination management companies, activity providers, booking platforms and payment providers.

We aim to share only information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant travel service.

These organisations may process your personal information according to their own privacy policies and applicable laws.

6. International Processing

Travel is an international service, and some of the organisations involved in arranging your trip may be located outside South Africa. Your personal information may therefore be transferred to or processed in other countries where this is necessary to provide the travel services you have requested.

Where applicable, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that such processing is handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

8. Marketing Communications

We may send travel inspiration, destination information, recommendations, offers or other travel-related communications where permitted by applicable law.

Where consent is required, we will obtain the appropriate consent before sending direct marketing.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications or ask us to stop contacting you for marketing purposes at any time.

9. Special and Sensitive Information

Certain travel arrangements may require information that is considered special personal information under POPIA, such as health or medical information, accessibility requirements or other sensitive information.

We will only process such information where there is an appropriate lawful basis and where it is reasonably necessary for the travel service you have requested.

10. Protecting and Retaining Your Information

Asili Travel takes reasonable technical, organisational and administrative measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or destruction.

Access to personal information is limited to those who reasonably require it for legitimate business or travel-related purposes.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing travel services, maintaining business records, resolving disputes and complying with legal obligations.

When information is no longer reasonably required and there is no legal or legitimate reason to retain it, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete, destroy or anonymise it.

11. Your Rights Under POPIA

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
